My Wedding Album

A Singapore Premiere
In transit alt screening
NLB The Pod

This documentary looks at weddings in Taiwan and China. How months of preparation goes into it. And a lot of money.

Two photographers' points of view - one who sells at roadshows and one freelance. They sell love and not just the shoot.

Wedding is a moment but marriage is a lifetime. That's what ended the show.

Two couples one from city Taiwan and another rural China.

The Taiwanese couple. Groom wants sexy shot or boudoir as I've heard today from Annabelle Law Photography, an all women Singaporean photoshoot company. Groom is not known to be demanding but for the wedding he wants like nude shots, the wet look. He lost at least 5kg and tanned himself religiously for it. He's like the star of the night and outshines the bride. They've like lifesize boards which they store somewhere after the wedding in their house, 3 kids later. Groom goes to work in HK and that's how they ended the documentary.

Rural China. They spend their yearly income from selling their Apple harvest and borrow money from relatives and neighbours. After the harvest income, they're still short of usd2,000! Groom is raised by grandparents as he's from a divorced family. Everyone is excited as this is the first shoot of their life esp. for the grandparents. One baby later, baby uses the photo to step on and grab. Groom initially wanted a lenticular print. ... Wow. His ideas quite advance.

We see many brides taking photoshoot in China all at one time by different photographers. So many. Couples prepare at lease a year in advance. Apparently in Singapore, Annabelle shared that couples spend $50,000-$150,000! Maybe overseas wedding photoshoot. For that perfect shot captured in 2d.

New Beginning

Finally got the chance to do some real packing today because clearing out the office left me with so much materials. Dug out my Mathematics notes about Computational Analysis and Basics of Mathematics. Omg those were the days. And kept those that were marginally still relevant in my life today. Like interview tips and Bahasa Melayu.

And all those old catalogues I've accumulated over the years before I joined the museum. Goodness. It dated way back to 2006. Kept only the useful artist essays and resource ideas.

And those travel brochures. So many files. Kept those which were memorable. Like that cute Totoro picture.

And newspaper clippings. Four files full. Started from secondary school. Even posted them on construction paper.

Now I'm just resorting keeping them in soft copy. Even then I great losing my memories. And knowledge. And skills.

Tomorrow Is Another Day

As part of Singapore MINDS Film Fest
Starring Teresa Mo and Ling Man-lung

Teresa Mo is a mother of a 20 year old autistic child. The film begins with an interview of mom where her son helps out to give out Chinese fans in dance class. She expresses her joy and pain of looking after him. It's just like taking care of 30 kids at once.

Her husband, a driving instructor is having an affair with one of his students, a young nubile girl, Daisy. He goes to visit her at her place, have trysts and one day she found his home address from FB and brings him soup when his wife went out grocery shopping.

His wife already suspects extra martial affair and seems like this is not the first. He has many late night schedules and his clothes reek of women's perfume. She came back that day to find her son in a distressed state because Daisy made him touch her boobs. Son expresses repressed shame by humping the pillow. Wife confronts husband and he moves out. He texted after asking for a divorce.

We see how wife plots to kill Daisy. And how she has to deal with son alone when he melts down. She feels guilty for bearing an autistic son and thinks it's her fault for not taking care of herself during pregnancy. At that time husband seemed to be having an affair already.

Wife watches HK movies of how to create an alibi by getting to Shenzhen through Lo ? Metro then taking the boat back to HK. She envisions stabbing Daisy mercilessly and tracked down Daisy's schedule. 5pm is the time she's alone. She does all this with her son whom she thinks doesn't understand anything.

She tried to execute once but chicken out because she's caught on CCTV. She had sought help from one who sells mobile phone who has contact of this auntie who can escort people back in cargo ships. Turns out this aunty has a son with Down Syndrome and helped her. After this Reece, mom gave son sleeping pills and tied him to bed. The son gave her a tender kiss before sleeping.

She found support from knitting aunties and one shared that her husband passed away one night in his sleep due to exhaustion. They have no children. So mom found support with these aunties and went KTV. Mom pain and relieve is so powerful and evident in this scene. The aunties saw this knife which dropped out of mom's bag one day.

Mom tries to start a new life with a job. First two turned her down as she has an autistic son. Finally she could sell ice-cream. Dad chatted with son without mom's notice and asked if son likes him. Son is happy and says yes. Dad promises to bring him to see shark and fish, his son's favourite animal. Dad leaves and son runs to find him. He gets distracted by fish truck and goes to aquarium which he frequents with his dad. Mom picks him up from police station.

Daisy provokes mom by saying husband left her because she bore him a retarded. Mom attempts second murder but was stopped when her son rips drawings of her killing. He sees and knows more than others. Mom and son are like one.

Husband returns because he cannot bear to lose his son. He felt like a father when his son finally held his hand after 7 years of getting to know him better. He apologizes to wife and says she must be even more tired. They go to the sea aquarium together as a family.

Autistic people are also human beings are can be even more sensitive than atypical people. They see everything and pick up emotions even more clearly.

It's a moving film and the cast acting was stellar.

Only Yesterday

A Studio Ghibli film
Produced by Hayao Miyazaki
JCC at Festival Theatre (Tampines)

27 year old Taeko rehashed her 10 year old self as a kid in Tokyo where she still lives and works. She's still unmarried, a taboo in Asian civilisation, and just turned down a suitor's proposal. She goes to pick safflower in the countryside of Yamagata where her second cousin's family friend lives, Toshio. It's her second time to the city, this time for 10 days vacation. This safflower is used to make rouge and sold in cities, with the by product used to dye clothes.

As a 10 year old, we see her first crush with a baseball expert, how badly she did fractions (D grade), how she threw tantrums and got slapped by her dad, the pumpkin show she watched and could recite with Toshio, how they had menses chat with the school nurse, how the boys found out and made fun of them, how she refused to skip PE because she would be seen as having her period, how she went into so many onsens she fainted and had her vacation shortened. Her 2 elder sisters, one was an artist, another studies economic, and grew up in the age of the Beatles, while she was only good in essays and reciting her lines with enthusiasm, even though it was a minor role, Child Villager A. How she hated someone in class so much he refused to shake her hands.

The grandma and mother encouraged her to stay in the village and marry Toshio and this made her embarrassed and hypocrite because it's not like she has thoughts of being a farmer's wife.

On the day she left for Tokyo, her 10 year old self and all her 10 year old classmates encouraged her to stay. Listening to her heart, she finally stopped and took the train back. Toshio had to hide his happiness many times and this was one of it. He wanted to hug her but restrained. When it was raining outside with them driving around, he wanted to console her by holding her hands. It is strange but I think that was a sign of those times, where people were unable to be expressive.

He reads her thoughts and she opens up to him well. Upon reflection, she took that as a sign of her affection for him. For E.g. He asked why is she not married? She says most women who live in the city work so they're still single, like most of her friends. Presumably too busy to get married. Then does she love the work so much? She doesn't love it or hate it; it's just a job.

I think I try to find a job that I love so that it's worth my efforts. But what's the point? If it doesn't bring happiness or fulfillment? How can it replace more everlasting things like relationships?

The moving pictures were all beautiful, with each frame like a watercolour painting.

The film ends with the Japanese version of the song "The Rose" by Bette Midler which was very moving.

Taeko is much like a dreamer like me and I identify with her a lot. In the end she decided to follow her heart.

The Great Buddha Plus

SFS film screening
Leading up to Chinese Film Fest

Starts with a funeral and a Chinese band playing Auld Lang Syn. The lead character Belly Button was kicked and bullied because he didn't play to the beat. His band mates did not help him. He is a security guard for a philanthropist, Kevin, a rich boy schooled overseas in NYC and now makes Buddha statues and drives a Merc Benz.

Pickles the vagrant make a living picking and selling trash. He has one friend, Sugar Apple, another vagrant who appeared about 3 years ago and lives in a tower by the sea. They call it Seaside Villa.

They have one other friend, Peanut, who takes care of a shop Savon, beside Seven Eleven. It's an arcade which also sells nick knacks.

Every other night, Pickles goes to the security shed of Belly Button. One night, Pickles instigates BB to look at the web cam of his boss's Merc. They find recordings of tryst with Cindy a student trying to earn some money for further studies, Miss Peh his ex-flame in her forties and Gucci, his secretary and current toy. They gave surveillance of Miss Peh waiting for Kevin. While Kevin and Gucci were having sex, Miss Peh called and asked to meet at the usual.

One night, they discover footage of Miss Peh threatening Kevin and recounted the scene that night. Abortion, Kevin not leaving his wife, allowing Kevin to do anything with her, Kevin bringing home a man for sex, Miss Peh goating him to compare sex between both genders, followed by a loud bang. Next we see the Merc being driven to the factory and Kevin knocking Miss Peh unconscious before dumping the body into this gigantic Buddha statue for the Dharma Assembly.

Pickles and BB sit in silence for many days. They seek help from useless mediums, Peanut helped them by seeking out his useless scam uncle of the Li Kai-Shing temple and Sugar Apple knew they were in trouble from a dream. Pickles ate his last meal from auntie at a shed which cooks for prisoners upon requests from family members. It was a sumptuous hot rice meal, fresh with vegetables and chicken wing. It's like aunty, somewhat his mother figure, knew his fate.

He was found dead in a ditch with alcohol in his blood. He doesn't drink but was killed drunk. Most likely by Kevin. BB is afraid he'll be next. His boss already warned him not to say anything by testing if he knew of his wig. That was a really tense moment.

Kevin asks BB to bring his mom to the upscale hospital. They couldn't find anything wrong with the Mother and puts her on drip, just like the first scene in a community hospital. But in that BB has to beg for the drip cos it's past 5pm. He drives mom with the drip home on a motorbike then. In this upscale hospital with all expenses paid for, BB feels trapped because his boss's bribing him. He opens the window for release and for a moment there I thought he was going to jump. His mom pleas with him through her eyes not to.

I bet the boss has CCTV in the security room and already knew what they were doing a long time ago. Kevin was brought in for a chat by a plainclothes police officer. Another high ranking person demanded for his release.

The day of Pickles funeral is also the day the Great Buddha is moved to the assembly Hall. Belly Button plays the drums, Peanut holds the picture, Sugar Apple holds this spirit lantern. They don't even have the picture of Pickles. Peanut did a screenshot of Pickles when he was arrested for picking trash by a policeman. The police wanted to confiscate his bike, his only means of livelihood, and Pickles refused so they fought. This was caught on National TV and that's where Peanut captured the screenshot. It is very sad how as friends they knew little of each other. It also portrays police as bullies abusing their power. And the villains escape punishment.

The gang realises how little they know of Pickles when he was alive. They never even visited his home. The first time they visited his home, it was nothing like a vagrant's home. Cosy with many knick knacks. And a UFO spaceship as a bed. Filled with toys he won from those vending machines. Which he plays cos it's therapeutic.

The one liner that struck me: how Man has conquered great distances and walked the Moon but the greatest distance is that of the heart.

Belly Button is alive but at what price? Pickles is dead, so what?

In the end during the Dharma Assembly all the faithful gather to chat scriptures. Suddenly Buddha silences the chants and casts a disproving gaze on the faithful. Someone had betrayed me.

Ready Player One

Directed by Steven Spielberg

It is the year 2045 and the world is on the brink of collapse. It is in this ghetto world that Wade Wyatts (Parzival) is born. An orphan sent to live with his aunt and her useless bf, he escapes reality by gaming in Oasis, where he can be cool, handsome, full of superpowers, smart etc. When James Halliday, the creator of Oasis died, he left 3 keys and an Easter egg for gamers to find. The prize money is control of Oasis.

He meets Samantha Evelyn Cool (Art3mis) and falls in love with her. Just like him, she knows everything about James Halliday and can complete all these sentences the creative mentioned.

Parzival finds the Cooper key by driving backwards to the finishing line, which resembles a Michael Jackson Neverland gate and driveway. Art3mis finds it next. As the first on the scoreboard, IO1 is alerted to kill him.

IO1 the evil corporation, hires thousands of games, scientists to crack codes to be the first to win and rule Oasis. They also incarcerate people who owe them real money in the real world to power up this virtual world.

Sorrento from IO1 offers Wade a job which he turns down of course. IO1 bombs his place and killed his aunt and bf. Art3mis saves him and brought him to their hideout.

They constantly go to the Halliday Journals or digital library where the curator shows virtual records. Second key was found by Art3mis in The Shining. They enter room 237 where scary zombies kill them and crazy father with axe chops them up. Eventually only Art3mis reaches Halliday's gf and only love by stepping on those zombies and got the Silver key.

Before that Parzival and Art3mis go on a dance date in this club where people dance by skydiving.

The bad guys catch up and incarcerate Art3mis. The hi 5 team is formed with Shoto, Acheh. They go to the virtual land, where Sorrento has cast a protective spell over where the third key is hidden. Parzival gets help from all gamers who came in the throngs. The Iron Giant helps them fight to the gates where Parzival and Art3mis witness how Adventure is played, but he still lost. The key is to wonder in the dark and find a box to bring to the other side. Parzival did it by sacrificing Art3mis so she can escape IO1. He found the Crystal key, meets James Halliday, got the golden Easter egg but didn't sign his life away. They got all the rights to Oasis, made it such that no one can monetize this, and close on Tues and Thursday because the real world is just if not even more important.

The movie begins in a apartment where two black men stock taking their guns. One turns out to be the brother of the King and the other is also from the country Wakanda. They identity themselves by glow in the dark barcodes on their lower lips. Brother hears someone coming and they keep their stash. Turns out one of those hot chicks (army of the King Wakanda) is the King himself in disguise. They confront the brother who now realises his fellow mate is also from Wakanda and had informed about him stealing vibranium. Brother wants to get back at companion but was stopped cold by the King. The King killed his brother and left his nephew behind who became Killmonger.

The son of the King, T'challa, return to get the throne. They remove his ex-lover, Nakia, from an undercover assignment so she can attend the coronation with his mom and super smart sis. At the coronation, the leader of the Jabari tribe, Okoye, that is not united as Wakanda, challenge him to fight. They lost and T'challa showed him mercy by not killing that leader.

Klaw and his accomplice, Erik, want to steal the Wakanda artefact from UK Museum. Okoye, T'challa and his lover, Nakia, go to stop the sale between Klaw and Everett K Ross. They didn't pursue Klaw and brought Ross back to Wakanda so that Shuri, T'challa sister can heal him with that Vibranium technology.

Killmonger challenges T'challa to combat and T'challa lost. Killmonger flings him to his death. Killmonger ingests the heart-shaped herb and gets superhuman powers. He orders the rest to be destroyed but not before Nakia takes one.

Mother, sister, gf and Ross flee to Jabari tribe and they find T'challa there saved by them as gratitude for not killing their leader. T'challa eats the last herb and fights killmonger. He dies and doesn't want to be healed so that he remains free.

T'challa sets up an outreach Centre run by Shuri and gf in memory of his uncle. He appeared in the UN to show Wakanda's true nature to the world and helped heal Bucky.

The Florida Project

Documents the life of this single teenage mom, Halley, and six-eight year old daughter, Moonee, who lives at The Magic Castle, this motel at the outskirts of Florida's Disneyland. They hang out with Halley's friend, Ashley, from downstairs unit 232 while they live at 323. Ashley works as a waitress in presumably Disneyland, where Halley, Moonee and Ashley's son, Scott, gets lunch from leftovers. That is until Ashley found out his son Scott started a fire in this suite of garishly painted houses. No longer friends and without the source of food, Halley steals Disneyland bands and resells them at a quarter of the price. 100 bucks each instead of 425 bucks. Halley buys cheap perfumes wholesale from stereotypical Chinese stall, and peddles them to rich customers living in Disneyland. With this she manages to scrap by and pay weekly rent. And soliciting while her daughter baths in the toilet.

The manager of the motel, Bobby, is stem on the exterior but so compassionate E.g. by offering to pay the difference in rent for Halley when they move to the next door motel.

Halley is unable to provide emotional stability for her child and dirties the motel lobby, sticks pad on doors I.e. throwing tantrums. Smokes pot or weed.

At the same time they have real good fun as mother and Child. They celebrate Moonee's friend's birthday, Jancey, with cake, candle and a fireworks display from the outside of Disneyland.

They play in the rain.

Moonee and Jancey have the sweetest childhood together. They explore terrains to observe cows, pretend play at abandoned houses, beg money for ice-cream, shout obscenities at strangers and spit at Jancey's grandmother's car which is how they first met.

Moonee is street smart E.g. carrying luggages for tips.

Their journeys are interspersed with beautiful billboards and billboards of "pregnant"? Which hints at the teenage pregnancies outside this idyllic fantasy. Like Moonee and Jancey whose parents are teens. Isn't it better they chose to keep their children?

When Halley beat up Ashley, social security is summoned and they threaten to take Moonee away. Moonee panics and finds Jancey and they flee into their Utopia, Disneyland.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Intense. Can hardly breathe throughout the film

Brought in by Anticipate Film by Vincent who specialises in European, American independent films and one other genre

Film begins with a cropped shot of a heart in open surgery. Pumping. With the pancreas? It stayed that way for a good one min. Was terribly painful to watch. Next we see the lead actor of the show, Steven, a surgeon (Colin Farrell) getting out of the operating theatre. He chats with the anaesthesiologist and good friend, Matthew, about watches. All in that strange clipped tone.

He goes home to his big house, beautiful wife Anna (Nicole Kidman) and two beautiful children, Kim and Bob. They're a totally artificial family, speaking in formal short sentences to each other and never asking beneath the surface. Kim does singing lessons and Bob refuses to cut his hair so he looks like a girl. They chat about buying a piano all in very cordial terms.

But the couple have very strange sex games which include "paralysis" of the wife. And lemon curd.

He first meets Martin at a dive. Martin is the classmate of Kim. He aspires to be like Steven, a surgeon. Next they drive to the sea and have this strange exchange of how're you? Steven looks at him with fatherly love. Martin is invited to their home for dinner, and Martin turns on the charm, such that even Anna takes a liking to him. Martin gets Kim to go for a walk with him. She likes him and sang "Burning by Ellie Golding" under a tree, picked up smoking from him, wants to have sex with him and rides pillion without a helmet.

Martin inches his way closer with the family. Good lemonade? Why not come over to my place. My mom (played by Alicia Silverstone) makes good lemonade too. Steven has dinner with Martin's mom and with him, obliges to stay and watch a movie upon Martin's request but strangely in the middle of the movie, Martin goes to bed, leaving only mother and Steven. Her come on line: what beautiful hands you have. I know surgeons have beautiful hands but none are as beautiful as yours. Mother proceeds to suck his fingers. Yummy. Steven declines her advanced and leaves but doesn't tell his wife what happened.

One morning, Bob cannot stand up. Thinking he was just faking it, Steven proceeds to play a game with him in the hospital where they have to tell each other secrets. Steven's was when he first started masturbating. He was a kid about Bob's age and he touched his dad's penis when his dad was super drunk. Except that Bob was not faking his paralysis. Steven threatens to cut his hair and make Bob eat it if he was faking it. And even though Bob can't eat, Steven forced him to. After numerous tests including a spinal cord extraction of fluid, all doctors find no cause for his illness.

Martin tells Steven first stage is loss of feelings in the limbs. Next is unable to eat. The Third stage is bleeding and finally death. So Martin's dad passed away in surgery and he was operated upon by Steven and Matthew as anaesthesiologist. An eye for an eye. Steven's wife and children must pay for the price. Kim was next to go and that happened abruptly during choir practice of that beautiful Christmas choral, Carol of The Bells.

The rebellious teenage daughter scolds her mom under her breathe and got a phone confiscated. She was speaking to Martin and during this time managed to overcome her paralysis to look for Martin by the window. He was not there. Mind over matter. The illness could be psychological if Steven had sought psychological help for this children, as mentioned by Anna who's also a doctor. Eventually the parents moved the children back because there was no other way treatments. They have undergone the two stages each.

Anna looks for Martin in his home. Martin tells of how Steven had dinner with them and he approves of Steven and his mom getting together. Steven has beautiful hands and his mom likes him since her husband has been killed. To all couples: never hide things from each other. Communicate daily. If someone tries to break you up with words, defend each other at all cost.

Steven tries to hunt down Martin at his home to no avail. One day Steven reveals to his wife that he had Martin kept at their basement. Martin had been badly beaten. Despite his injuries, Martin still has that unflinching, challenging look in his eyes. When the wife is not in the room, Martin attacks Steven and bit off the flesh on his arm. Martin bit off his own flesh too. An eye for an eye.

Kim toys around with Bob saying his dad would choose that only she lives. Her dad loves her better and even got a Steinway shipped from God knows where. One child must go.

Kim sneaks down to the basement one day and begs Martin to make her better. He was expressionless. Can he not or does he not want to? She drags herself out of the house and is carried home by dad, knees all bloodied. She mutters all those crazy words like a cult as he dresses her wounds and begs that he chooses her. She betrays her brother with a kiss on her dad parallel to how Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus with a kiss.

Anna cleans and dresses the wounds of Martin with her two children. She kisses both his feet showing her servitude and service for Martin. And begs that he help them. I don't think he can actually. This whole scenario could be really psychological. Why else would the mom not be affected by paralysis?

She releases Martin and incurs his wrath

The Square

Part of privileges of being an SFS member

This film explores the existential crisis of human beings. Christian, lead curator of a Stockholm museum X-Royal, a contemporary and modern art museum, faces difficulties professionally and personally.

The film begins with Christian sleeping on an office couch and it is daylight. A fine art magazine is seen on the floor with a boop strategically hidden. One assumes he had a wild night.

A crane lifts a statue of someone important sitting on a horse on top of a pedestal by the neck. Naturally the statue breaks. In place of this prominent position in front of the museum is a square lit with flourescent tubes. According to the artist, within this square is a"safe space".
"The Square is a sanctuary of trust and caring. Within it, we all share equal rights and obligations.”

Christian is faced with this task to sell this.

When interviewed by an American journalist on the greatest challenge, he says it's too raise funds. Same problems.

He later sleeps with this journalist who lives with a chimpanzee-child. This chimp gets its own crayons to doodle and stares at its owner jealously when she brought Christian home. The many explicit sex shots are crazy and the humping and thumping. This journalist has this crazy control obsession over dumping of Christian's condom. Makes him put it on so business-like, takes off her clothes in a brisk business-like manner too and asks if he did cum. And insists he was inside her the next day at work. She's obviously infatuated with him while he doesn't think much of the sex act, like all men. The really hilarious part is when she insists on dumping his condom. I had no idea it was so elastic. Like over 60cm.

In the beginning of the film we see hoards of well-dressed working class Swedes walking out of the subway and to their destinations. And this voice in the crowd, "want to save a life today?" And no one ever stops to ask what is it. What can I do you save a life? Nope. Everyone ignores and life carried on. It's really disturbing.

When Christian is knocked into otw to work, approached by a woman who claims to be hunted down by someone trying to kill her, he stops and tries to do prevent this mishap together with another passer-by. Little did he know he was being robbed. After preventing the mishap and feeling good about this with the newly made "friend" they part ways.

In his attempt to retrieve his money, wallet and handphone, he and a subordinate hatch a plan through tracking of the mobile's GPS. They printed a letter demanding a return of the possessions by leaving the items at the nearby convenience stall and this was slotted to every level's mailbox.

His subordinate chickened out and Christan is left to do it on his own. He tries to use his star diva status to get his subordinate to do it to no avail. While he goes around arduously trying to slot the letter, there's a perpetual dog barking and in the car downstairs, his subordinate is harassed by a gang of crazies. The cropped shot from within the car gives this intense and unstable feeling like he's going to killed. It's scary. Christian is finally done and runs out and orders him to drive and get the hell out out of this place.

To their amazement somebody did return the items. They called on the first day- no news. Second day- someone from the convenience stall called.

The number of homeless people in Stockholm is prevalent. In contrast to the number of well-heeled people. A Gypsy demands for food in this convenience stall where Christian tried looking for his items on the first day. A certain kind of burger with no onions. True to his attitude he gets the burger and asked her to pick out the onions herself.

When he got the items back he donated all the money to her.

To his surprise on the third day someone from the convenience stall says someone is demanding to see Christan. This person says he was accused of being a thief and his parents now banned him from his favorite leisure. He demands that Christan apologies to his family. Strongly worded this boy is crazy and this is seen when the cowardly Christian, sends his subordinate to confront this boy, who flies into a rage, overturned rubbish and threatened that Christian will be harmed and will regret his action.

Distracted by this, Christan signs off a crazy video to promote "The Square", created by a bunch of Millennials in a PR firm. All they want is a viral video. This video eventually blows up in Christian's face when he first gets a call for reaching xxx number of views on YouTube for this video, then being told by Board that he needs to step down and having a press con to announce that. He's let off the hook when the PR firm takes blame for creating this video of a toddler with blond hair blue- eyes and carrying a ragged toy blows up in the Square. She's obviously homeless.

We realise he's married and divorced/separated when his two girls visit him. He forgot to pick them up and they go crazy quarreling with each other. The crazy boy tracks him down home one day and when Christian scared him away by accidentally pushing him down the stairs, he did not help this whimpering puppy boy.

When Christan was out looking for his girls in a crowded mall, he could not get anyone's help to look after his bags. Instead he had to approach a beggar who didn't steal any of his items.
